Transfer Bonus Calculator

A transfer bonus multiplies the points you receive on the other side, not the points you send. Transferring 50,000 points at a 30 percent bonus and a 1:1 base ratio gives you 65,000 partner points. The base ratio is applied first and it is the part people forget. A 4:3 ratio with a 30 percent bonus lands you 975 partner points per 1,000 sent, which is close to even rather than a windfall.

Enter 30 for a 30% bonus.
Most partners are 1:1. Leave both at 1 unless you know otherwise.

The base ratio is applied first

This is the part that catches people out. A bonus multiplies what lands on the other side, and the base ratio has already been applied by then. At 4:3 with a 30% bonus, 1,000 points sent become 975 received, which is close to breaking even rather than a windfall. At 1:1 the same bonus turns 1,000 into 1,300.

Most bank-to-airline and bank-to-hotel partners run at 1:1, but not all of them, and a handful have been devalued in recent years. The transfer partner list shows the current ratio for every partner, with the date each was last verified.
